Sir

I Wrote your Excelancy Just as I Left Fort Pitt and Inclosd. you An abstract of my Journal Containing an Account of My Transactions with the Indians there and Now I inclose your Excelancy an abstract of My Transactions with the Indians Since I arrived hear Containing all the Intilegance I have been able to gett Worth your Excelancys Notice.

You Excelancy will See by ye abstract of my Journal that the Defecultys I Now Meet with is owing to My Nott being Sent Early in the Spring on this Service & Delaying itt So Long has Given Time to the French to Rase the Jeloecys of the Indians Not yett aquainted with his Majestys Subjects.

I have Sent of Deputys by Land to the Nations Residing on the Ouabache in order to undecave them & Invite thire Cheeffs to Meet Me att the Ilinious & tomorrow I will Send of Deputys to the Confluence of the Ouabache to Inform the Indians Collected there of the Busness I am going on & of My aproch which I hope will answer a Good purpuse and Facilitate ye Good of ye Service I am Going on, I Shall proceed Myself Tomorrow with as Much Causion as possable.

I have Wrote to Major Farmer by ye Deputys that I have Sent by Land and aquainted him with Ever thing that has Come to my Knoledge and requested him if the Service wold admitt of itt to Send Some pople to Meet Capt. Gordon and me att the Confluence of ye ohio with the Missipia In order to asist us in Gatting up to Fort Chartrees.

The Shawnas has att Last Come hartly into My Meshers Butt itt was with Great Difeculty thire Worrers Could be preswaded to agree to a paice with those Ouabache Indians who Struck us Last year.

I have been oblidjd. to Give those Indians Some presents and to Gratifye them with Sending a Trader with a few Goods to there Town for the present as they Complaind. of the Distance to Fort Pitt in Transporting there peltry and our Nott (page 2) Sufering any French Traders to Come Amoungst them.

I have Consulted Capt. Gordon in Every thing I have Done & we boath thought that part of the presents Could Nott be beter bestowd. then on those pople & hope My Conduct will Meet with you Excelancys aprobation. I am with Great Respect
