Hamtramck reports to Harmar that "La Demoisele assures me that a friend of his band come from the Weeya to tel him that the Miami Indians with those of the Wabash had concluded to pay me a visit in the fall, that the Indians of the Wabash had send to the Sacs to join them in that opperation which (I am inform'd) they refused."

Raymond, comm. of Miami Post, reports that "La Demoiselle seems to be far from keeping the promise which he gave by the belts which M. de Celoron sent you to return to the Miami with his band. This savage sent speeches into all the winter quarters of the Miami of the bands of Le Pied Froid and in those of the Potawatomi of St. Joseph and of the Wea to have them go to the Great Miami. They have all promised to take their furs there. The general news is that a party of Ouiatanon is to go settle there. Le Pied Froid fears that all the savages of his band will decide to do so; none of those who were in that region last autumn have returned."
