Hamilton informs Tipton that F. Godfroy says Mr. Comparet, administrator of his late Brother's (Lewis) will, persists in trying to sell land which belonged to Lewis, alledgedly to pay the debts of the estate. F. Godfroy says the claims were investigated & were allowed in the Miami treaty of 1834. Hamilton requests copies of the accounts.

killed in an engagement near Fort Patrick Henry near Vincennes on June 17, 1780. He was interred with war honors by Dalton. Apparently Grant Coit was the "head chief" of the Indians attacking the Post, since only the attackers were described as having anybody killed.

Jan. 12, 1793

a member of the Wabash Indian delegation who visited Philadelphi after Putnam's Treaty at Vincennes. Grand Joseph died of small pox in Philiadelphia some time between De. 28, 1792, when the delegation arrived in Philadelphia and Jan. 12, 1793, when he was mentioned as 1 of 5 Wabash Indians who had died by Knox in a letter to Wayne.
